Organization & Position Summary:

The Arc Minnesota promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, actively supporting them and their families in a lifetime of full inclusion and participation in their communities. 

The position of Human Resources Coordinator supports and facilitates human resource processes at all business locations. This position will:

  • Lead, develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract, retain, and engage a committed and diverse workforce
  • Process and maintain data in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), ADP, for accurate payroll processing and overall data integrity and legal compliance 
  • Participate in administration of employee benefits programs and leave administration 
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees, volunteers, and other partners of The Arc Minnesota and Arc’s Value Village
  • Consistently demonstrate and model the organization’s core values in Human and Civil Rights, Self-Advocacy, Self-Direction, and Equity and Belonging

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads, develops and implements recruitment and staffing strategies to attract, retain, and engage an effective, committed and diverse workforce for The Arc Minnesota and Arc’s Value Village Businesses.
  • Responsible for all recruitment promotions: job postings, ads, media etc. 
  • Maintains and updates recruitment efforts on Arc websites, the human resource intranet page and other social media outlets.
  • Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements and cultural-fit.
  • Leads and participates in job fairs and/or related community events.
  • Develops interview questions and ensures that staff involved in hiring are trained in interviewing/recruitment processes.
  • Administers Applicant Tracking Processes 
  • Ensures that all hiring and employment practices comply with legal requirements. 
  • Maintains and processes personnel payroll data to support accurate payroll processing.
  • Generates and processes proper documentation to support new hires, terminations and other salary/benefits actions.
  • Maintains the integrity of HRIS database.
  • Ensures timely completion of employment verifications and information requests.
  • Generates reports from HRIS/Payroll system as requested.
  • Administers and audits all benefits processes (including Health, Dental, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term Disability Plans, Retirement Plans, 403B plans, Flexible Spending, Cobra).
  • Processes benefit changes such as: new enrollments, changes, terminations etc. 
  • Assists with the collection and review of employee survey data to support employee engagement and continuous improvement. 
  • Assists with Leave Administration.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions related to onboarding, benefits and other needs as required.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in related field preferred but not required
  • 2 Years Human Resource experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of work rules and labor law compliance
  • Professional manner, dependable, punctual and able to handle confidential information
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
