Job Description: Weekes seeks an experienced Human Resources Leader to join the team in Oakdale, MN. The position carries out the human resource functions in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives while also representing the company’s vision, mission and core values in all duties and interactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, managing, and performing day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department, and the administration of the company’s HR policies, procedures, and programs. The candidate must also have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
The position offers a competitive compensation package and reports to the President.
Responsibilities: The candidate must:
Administer HR policies, procedures, and programs per company standards, review and recommend policy and procedure updates in compliance with federal and state employment regulations
Plan, lead, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes and initiatives to support organizational HR compliance and strategy needs
Serve as the main point of contact for branch leadership and employees regarding any and all HR related issues and/or questions
Maintain personnel files and other Human Resources records; ensure files are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and company policies and procedures
Provide ongoing HR support, including administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, moral and training and development
Monitor federal, state, and local regulations to ensure total compliance
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; communicate findings and recommendations to Corporate Leadership
Collaborate with hiring managers and leadership during the recruitment process to assist in job posting, general recruitment, background checks, and onboarding
Assist with employee training, employee relations and development, staff meetings, and other employee-related events
Lead and monitor workers’ compensation, OSHA incident claims, and unemployment processes
Perform other related administrative duties as required
Have PHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification with 4 years of progressive Human Resources Management experience
Hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field OR have comparable experience
Have an HR Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational development, employee relations, training and development, and regulatory compliance
Possess the ability to objectively coach and counsel employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
Have outstanding multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to complete difficult assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, organizational, and follow-through skills
Have passion and a high sense of urgency about Human Resource’s customers and providing professional services that advance the core business and employee engagement in the company’s success
Have the ability to work independently and solve complex problems without direct supervision
Have computer proficiency; preferably in Microsoft Office
