Teksouth is seeking a dynamic and motivated Business Development Representative (BDR)to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software services, data analytics, business intelligence, and business development. The BDR is a remote position with a preference for candidates in the national capital region (DC, Maryland, Virginia). Candidates should have the ability to travel at least 25% of the time to customer meetings and events.
You will engage in business development efforts in the federal government sector with a primary focus on the Department of Homeland Security. You will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and driving revenue growth within the federal government market. This position reports directly to the Director of Business Development.
Responsibilities
Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the federal government sector.
Develop and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet client needs.
Drive the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring a seamless transition for the delivery team.
Stay current on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities.
Conduct discovery of client needs and determine the appropriate Teksouth solution to address client needs.
Be able to present Teksouth's solutions in both layman and technical terms.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience with the Department of Homeland Security.
Minimum 7 years of recent successful performance in Business Development focused in the government sector of IT services.
Proven track record of success in business development, lead generation, and closing sales.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Entry to moderate level of knowledge in the following technical areas:
Mid to senior level decision/data-based dash boards
Business Intelligence
Data Analytics
Cloud hosting and cloud-based solutions.
Application of software to enhance decision making.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer meetings and events.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in using Capture to Proposal.
Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and regulations.
Understanding of Microsoft Power BI
Consistent track record in coordinating multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
Ability to network and influence customers.
Ability to manage client relationships to develop and enhance corporate image in the Commercial market and Business community.
Facilitate business alliances and teaming arrangements to expand business opportunities.
Understand the requirements and importance of marketing, corporate branding and message development.
Participate in professional/community events and organizations.
