Montgomery County Government is Hiring a Program Manager II (Autism Waiver), Grade N25 Near Rockville, MD

Position Summary:

This position is in the Autism Waiver (AW) Program within the Department’s Aging and Disability Services division, Community Support Network Unit. The AW program provides service coordination/case management services for children/young adults with autism that have been determined eligible by the Maryland State Department of Education and the Maryland Department of Health. This program is operated in collaboration with Montgomery County Public Schools via a Memorandum of Understanding. This Program Manager II position will serve as one of the managers of the Autism Waiver (AW) Program. The incumbent will provide supervision to a team of Service Coordinators, serve as a liaison with Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), and participate in Statewide meetings for the Autism Waiver Program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform program management and oversight of the Autism Waiver (AW) Program, including processing and monitoring billing activity for the team.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to AW staff to ensure that regulatory guidelines are being met while also providing strong customer service.
  • Perform internal audits and lead the response on external audits.
  • Review and interpret State policies and be able to provide this information in a clear understandable format.
  • Assign cases and determine the appropriateness of referrals and recommendations for the level of care.
  • Develop and deliver training to AW staff and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Thorough five (5) years professional experience in providing case management in a case management program for individuals with Autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.

There is no Preferred Criteria. All applicants will be reviewed by OHR for minimum qualifications. Those applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be rated Qualified, placed on the Eligible List, and may be considered for an interview.

Preference for interviews will be given to applicants with experience in the following:

  • At least five (5) years-experience in providing Service Coordination/Case Management in the Autism Waiver Program.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and County regulations, policies and procedures as they pertain to the operation of the Autism Waiver Program and an understanding of the techniques and tools necessary to effectively provide services to children with Autism.
  • Experience leading/managing staff in a human services agency that provides services to individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge and experience coordinating and facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings.
