DAP is looking to hire Human Resources Manager for our Baltimore Plant, MD.

The HR Manager role is a great opportunity to make a difference at one of DAP’s largest manufacturing sites, located in Sparrows Point.

The HR Manager oversees all activities related to human resources, health and safety at a plant and a distribution center. This role reports to the Plant Manager and has two direct reports.

Responsibilities

Recruitment

• Screens, interviews and onboards plant associates.
• Manages external recruiters and agencies for temporary workers.

Employee Relations

• Develops and fosters a positive work environment. Engages all shifts to ensure a productive and safe working environment.
• Plans creative celebrations and recognition programs.
• Facilitates and resolves employee issues.
• Represents Company in unemployment hearings, mediations, etc.

Leadership

• Oversees the payroll process and salary and benefit programs.
• Manages the goals, performance and development of the plant HR Assistant and HR Generalist.
• Serves on the Plant Leadership Team

Health and Safety

• Plans, organizes and writes safety training programs to ensure that DAP meets company, state and federal safety requirements.

Policy Management

• Develops, interprets, and enforces plant policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Masters's degree in Human Resources, Communications or related disciplines.
• 5 years of relevant experience at a manufacturing facility
• Strong employee relations, conflict-resolution and team-building skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Leadership skills
• Knowledge of employment laws, such as FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and OSHA.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office.
