As a key member of the management team and of a thriving start-up, the Human Resource Manager/Director is expected to be versatile and wear multiple hats will run the administrative functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leaves, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resource Manager is a full-time, salaried, exempt position reporting to the Vice President of HR and will work closely with all business leaders and the CFO implementing and managing daily HR priorities.[Job Description]
Run and oversee human resources functions including recruitment, benefits administration, onboarding, support evTerra locations and their employees, employee relations, and internal policy compliance.Provide sound expert guidance to the managers of each department and program regarding key organizational and management issues. Maintain company wide org charts, provide detailed reporting on various HR and employee metrics as needed.Manage, oversee and administer benefits programs including health care and 401K. Must have had meaningful previous experience having implemented and managed various benefits programs.Continuously ensure that human resources functions are administered in a manner consistent with federal, state, and local law as well as, job safety, and health and employee relations.Coordinate and monitor recruitment, job postings, background screenings, reference checking, and e-verify of all personnel, exempt, and non-exempt.Become the content expert of payroll (we currently use Paycor) and the point person to resolve day-to-day employee inquiries.Lead the new hire intake, changes of status, medical clearances, leave requests, compliance with law, policy, and processing time objectives.Develop, maintain, and effectively communicate human resources policies and procedures.Plan, execute, document, and timely resolve investigations into employee relations matters such as employee grievances, performance concerns, or alleged misconduct.Ensure that all new employees complete a new employee orientation and that all documents and policies are signed and meet legal guidelines and compliance requirements.Ensure training compliance with state requirements including sexual harassment prevention training using Paycor LMS.Develop, measure, interpret, and regularly communicate to senior management key performance objectives targeted to evaluate the effectiveness of human resources activities.Conduct and report on compliance, risk, and safety audits and investigations to ensure compliance with the company’s human resources policies as well as applicable laws and regulations.Participate in EEO, Unemployment, Wage & Hour, Worker’s Compensation, OSHA, and ADA, and hearings as necessary.Collaborate with the VP of HR in monitoring and analyzing important HR KPI involving turnover statistics, time to fill a role.Maintain referral and safety incentive programs.Practice positive employee relations, including coaching, counseling & discipline.[Qualifications]
At least 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a start-up environmentA 4-year college degree and advanced degree viewed favorablyPrevious supervisory responsibility a plusFamiliarity with and knowledge of employment laws required.Strong verbal and written communication skills. This is a must.Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlinesStrong work ethic, must be flexible with availability to accommodate global time zonesProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
