Ben Tire Distributors - Neal Tire & Auto is Hiring a Human Resources Administrator Near Indianapolis, IN

Ben Tire Distributors has been a leader in the tire industry for 90 years. We have 6 warehouses across Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. We pride ourselves on the best variety of products and reliable service to our customers.
The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for providing comprehensive support in the day-to-day operations of human resources, ensuring the efficient delivery of salary payments and adjustments, the recruitment processes, employee benefit administration, new employee orientation and onboarding, and the accuracy and maintenance of employee records.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepares and posts job advertisements, screens applications, arranges interviews, participates in the selection process, tracks applicants, and reports to senior management on hiring results.
  • Provides general administrative support such as preparing correspondence, forms, and reports, processes confidential reports and documents (electronic and hard copy files), and follows up on deadlines.
  • Processes weekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of wages to hourly employees, and completes and provides analysis of weekly payroll totals as required.
  • Reviews and approves hours worked for hourly employees. Maintains and monitors PTO usage for the hourly employee population.
  • Prepares documentation for new hires, and verifies changes in pay, status, or benefits.
  • Establishes, maintains, and controls employee records, recruitment records, files, correspondence, reports, and organization charts.
  • Manages sensitive and confidential matters including employee information, and organization changes, and protects the security of all company information, data, and files.
  • Responds to various requests from managers, employees, and others.
  • Interprets, assists, and advises employees and managers regarding HR procedures and policies within the specified guidelines.
  • Conducts research, gathers data, and maintains statistical information.
  • Assists with monitoring current issues and matters in the organization related to the HR department.
  • Assists with completion of pre-employment screenings, such as drug, criminal record checks, and reference checks.
  • Assists with the preparation of internal employee communications regarding compensation, benefits, or company policy.
  • Maintains and monitors employee records in the HRIS system.
  • Assists in the maintenance of the company directory.
  • Assists with monitoring employee performance appraisals and the salary increase/budget process.
  • Interacts with and supplies information to employees at all levels of the company.
  • Other duties as assigned
