The HR Director serves as a key leader in aligning the HR strategy with ABOUT business strategies. The HR Director oversees planning, organizing and administering human resources programs, policies, and activities, including the HRIS (ADP), compliance, recruitment, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, performance management, and learning and development for the entire organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Benefits & Compensation
- Administer all employee benefit programs, including health and retirement plan and employee-centered wellness initiatives
- Lead a successful Annual Open Enrollment by partnering with the benefits broker and ensuring employee understanding of benefit offerings
- Perform review of benefits offerings to ensure benefits are competitive and meet employee needs
- Support employee leave of absences by working with employee to determine leave needs
- Lead the annual pay review process, including refining/creating job descriptions, reviewing market data, and partnering with managers to make pay recommendations
Employee Engagement
- Administer and analyze annual employee engagement survey and pulse surveys, partnering with leaders to review results and support next steps
- Partner with the employee engagement team to implement best practices in employee engagement, leading HR related initiatives as a result of engagement team recommendations
- Evaluate and manage employee recognition program by encouraging participation and refining program as needed
- Support department leaders with retaining employees and ensuring an engaged workforce
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for open positions, including posting, screening, coordinating interviews, administering pre-hire assessment, and offers for qualified candidates
- Support new hires with onboarding paperwork in ADP and successful acclimation to tools at ABOUT
- Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new hires, including evaluation of the current onboarding practices and making adjustments as needed
- Determine effective recruitment strategies within budget
Policies/Procedures/Compliance
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and institutional standards, regulations and policies regarding human resources
- Provides recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures and practices
- Anticipates and resolves litigation risks; investigates incidents and exposures and provides recommendations to mitigate
- Administer and ensure compliance with required annual trainings, such as harassment and drug free workplace
- Keep abreast with state and local laws and regulations as they apply to the organization.
- Guide and advise talent on all aspects of employee-related issues, including manager/employee issues, policies & procedures, misconduct, investigations, terminations, review of appealed terminations, reorganizations, EEOC claims, etc
- Support and oversee the government background check and compliance process
- Support M&A as applicable
Talent/Performance Management
- Develop and lead the annual performance review process & talent assessment process identifying key talent
- Lead and delivery necessary training and administration of the overall HR processes
- Support leadership training initiatives by developing training and coaching leaders on best practices
- Partner with leaders to manage employee relations as needed
HRIS administration
- Utilize and optimize the HRIS for all employee information
- Maximize the HRIS for recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and pay data
Other:
- Maintains currency of human resources regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, applicable laws, and legislation.
- Provides leadership to other HR team members (when applicable)
- Analyze HR metrics (benefits enrollment, turnover, hiring, etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Need to Have:
- Ability to work on site at our downtown St Paul office 2-3 days/week
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years of human resources experience
- Track record of successfully leading the HR function for a smaller organization
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience working in a private equity-funded organization.
- Master’s degree in organizational development, MBA, or HR
- SHRM or PHR Certification
- Prior experience in the healthcare IT / SaaS company
- Experience defining / developing HR processes and procedures
- ADP WorkForce Now experience
Required Knowledge and Skills

- Ability to work closely with senior leadership on HR strategy as it relates to the business
- Utilize technology and reporting available, including excel, ADP, LinkedIn, Culpepper, etc.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within established department guidelines.
- Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to seek out resources for ensuring HR best practices
