We seek a highly skilled professional, an Accounting Specialist, who will actively work within the Accounting Team to manage accounts payable, daily check processing, assisting in timekeeping activities, and other duties as determined appropriate. Due to growth, we are expanding our current accounting functions, and this growth is part of an exciting new dynamic for career development. This hands-on, full-time position is located at our corporate office in Omaha, NE.
Essential Functions:
· Process and record daily check payment uploads being processed for purchases of raw materials and vehicles for processing within the operations of the entity. Work with Sales team to ensure accuracy in processing through the bank’s positive pay functionality. Respond to questions from the bank related to uploaded transactions & submit exceptions to accountant for research and review.
· Ensure all daily checks are processed for upload to the financial system.
· Process incoming cash sales transactions for bank deposits.
· Support weekly payroll processing through management of timekeeping activities; responding to employee inquiries and resolving exceptions
· Generate daily worksheet to update parts sales.
· Open & sort mail
· Greet visitors to the office.
· Ensure all departmental filing including accounts payables, sales, and bank transaction receipts is completed
· Make money deposit “runs” as needed.
· Serve as backup for accounts payable data entries
· Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities
· Perform ad-hoc analysis and other projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
· Experience that shows an ability to utilize financial software, Excel spreadsheets, and other office tools
· Excellent attention to detail and result oriented.
· Strong verbal communication skills
· Deadline-driven with excellent time management ability
· Professional disposition when liaising with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
· Energetic and strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and in team environment
· Ability to work under pressure with fluctuating demands and deadlines
· Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new applications
Qualifications:
· Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Minimum of 2-year accounts receivable / payable experience.
· Associate degree in accounting or business administration preferred.
· Strong Excel skills
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet required timetables.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Market-based hourly pay
Expected hours: 35-40 hours per week
