Accounts Payable Specialist
The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in the accounting department of a busy medical practice. This position reports to the Senior Accountant and is responsible for all Accounts Payable duties as well as expected to cross train in other areas of the accounting department such as payment collection and reporting.
Essential duties:
· Collect and file invoices and all related backup documents from email and web portals. Scan documents received by mail.
· Post invoices, payments, and credit card charges.
· Make payments to vendors in accordance with vendor terms and company cash flow.
· Process requests for employee reimbursement.
· Run monthly A/P report and reconcile vendor statements.
· Process weekly check runs and monthly rent payments.
· Create spreadsheets to record vendor information, invoices, and payment timing.
· Ensure that expenses are coded to the correct GL accounts and classes.
· Assist with month-end close.
Required qualifications:
· Recent accounting education or accounts payable experience.
· Experience with QuickBooks or general accounting software.
· Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and formulas.
· Precision and accuracy evidenced by the ability to correct and submit error-free work is essential.
· Ability to communicate effectively through email.
· Ability to organize large quantities of information.
· Positive attitude and excellent work ethic.
Preferred qualifications:
· College degree in Accounting.
· Exceptional mathematics skills.
· Healthcare industry experience.
30 hours/week Monday - Friday. Our office is located in mid-town Phoenix near 7th St and Thomas Rd.
Salary negotiable DOE
