JOB SUMMARY:
Provide administrative and some analytical support to the Surveillance team, which manages a $100Bn portfolio of Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) loans for which LNR is named the Special Servicer. Surveillance provides portfolio, deal and loan level credit analysis to monitor over 6,000 real estate loans backed by commercial real estate properties. Property types include office, retail, multifamily, hotel, industrial, and self-storage loans located in all 50 states. Surveillance is an energetic department with a central role in the operations of the Special Servicer. Surveillance is the gate-keeper of information for the servicer and works diligently to communicate the servicer’s activities with senior management, outside investors, and rating agencies. The position is a commercial real estate and structured finance employment opportunity at Starwood Property Trust’s corporate headquarters in Miami Beach, FL.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily administration of a workflow application for all Rating Agency, Master Servicer and investor inquiries, which includes assigning them to analysts for research
• Coordinate/schedule multiple monthly meetings and/or calls with third-party clients and company senior management
• Review monthly loan and REO asset management meeting books to make sure that information has been entered into LNR’s database
• Coordinate travel and/or on-site meetings for Surveillance personnel including Rating Agencies and investor presentations and site visits
• Track divisional training attendance in a company-maintained database
• Prepare and disseminate weekly e-mails and data tapes to third-party clients summarizing prior week servicing activity
• Maintain department electronic file library, and address ad hoc administrative projects as necessary
• Basic administrative functions such as:
o Order office supplies and maintain supply cabinet
o Assist with booking conference rooms and scheduling meetings
o Meeting set up – Lunch/beverages when needed
o Submitting expense reports for team personnel
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work on multiple tasks with multiple people. Self-starter and self-motivated
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good computer skills including Word, Outlook and Excel
• Detail-oriented and thorough
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a professional office environment in an administrative support role
• Real Estate/Financial Services industry experience preferred
