About RF:

ReliabilityFirst Corporation is a regulator focused on the reliability and security of the electric grid. ReliabilityFirst’s mission is to preserve and enhance the reliability, security, and resilience of the Bulk Power System across 13 states and the District of Columbia. ReliabilityFirst is uniquely positioned to work closely with transmission, generation, and other power companies as well as the federal government to help identify and ensure the mitigation of operational risks and physical and cyber security threats to the electric grid.

Purpose of Position:

The Human Resources intern will play a pivotal role in supporting various functions within the HR department, contributing to the overall success of the organization. The Human Resources intern will assist in recruitment and talent acquisition, total rewards management, employee development and retention, performance management, employee engagement, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion initiatives. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in multiple facets of HR, providing an opportunity for growth and learning within the field. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition:
    • Support the recruiting team with sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, posting jobs and helping with interview coordination and onboarding tasks as needed
  2. Total Rewards
    • Assist with wellness program events and initiatives 
  3. Employee Development and Retention
  4. Performance Management 
  5. Employee Engagement and Communication
    • Assist in planning and executing employee engagement activities. 
  6. Diversity Equity and Inclusion
    • Support DEI initiatives and programs 
    • Review current policies and procedures 
  7. Other duties are required and/or assigned 

Qualifications:

  1. Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 
  2. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion 

Desirable:

  1. Previous internship or work experience in the human resources or related field. 
  2. Knowledge of basic HR principles and practices
  3. Familiarity with HR software and tools, such as applicant tracking systems and HRIS systems. 
  4. Demonstrated leadership experience or involvement in extracurricular activities
