Job Title : Human Resources Manager
Department: Finance
Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Baltimore, MD (In-Office, Not Remote)
Hours of work: Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM EST Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.
Compensation: $80,000- $85,000 annually.

We have employees spanning across the US and two main offices (Baltimore & Los Angeles).
Overview:
Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resources Manager must have strong business partnering skills, thrive in a culture of change, have the ability to build credibility as a knowledgeable and trusted HR advisor, and have at least five years of HR generalist experience in one or more of the following areas: employee relations, workforce planning, HR compliance (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, etc.), diversity and inclusion, change management, and strategic organizational planning.
Who:
InVita is looking for an HR Manager who possesses a strong foundation on the functions of human resources and has a zeal to update their knowledge on latest practices and trends in human resources. Ideal candidates should be comfortable communicating with a variety of individuals from across the company and outside.
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and working closely with other employees to support the overall mission of InVita.
  • Answers questions or concerns regarding company benefits, policies, practices, and regulations.
  • Reconcile/validate data entry to ensure data integrity and support routine reporting requests.
  • Keep employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in the HRIS system in a timely fashion.
  • Oversee and administer the recruitment and selection processes for all positions, ensuring recruiting and hiring practices follow government regulations and procedures in the hiring and post-employment process.
  • Support initiatives and activities for employee and manager training. May support company-sponsored employee events as directed.
  • Assure and maintain compliance with Federal and State laws and mitigate risk to the company by staying abreast of current HR practices and changes in employment law, then promptly addressing any gaps in company’s existing policies and procedures.
  • Provide coaching and feedback on how to improve individual performance to employee and management across assigned organizations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on routine employee relations issues.
  • Participate in annual benefits renewal process and assist with open enrollment as needed.
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook, the code of conduct and other manuals.
  • Conduct Exit Interviews and perform qualitative data analysis of turnover, discipline, and other metrics.
  • Complete bi-monthly payroll.
  • Work with private equity company to complete HR related reporting tasks.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, federal employment laws.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information, and maintain effective relationships with employees and outside contacts.
  • Ability to build team morale and promote corporate culture.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must have high initiative, integrity, strong work ethic, good communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prefer SPHR or SHRM certification.
  • Able and willing to work well in a diverse environment.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to occasionally travel on a flexible schedule. Airplane travel may be necessary.
