The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing, and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.
This position will be in support of HJF's Home Office Department of Strategic Initiatives, Business Development (BD) Team.
HJF is seeking a Business Development Analyst in a highly interactive role to support the Business Development Team by managing, coordinating, and assisting with various tasks to accomplish HJF’s strategic goals. Through engagement with key organizational stakeholders, the BD Analyst will complete various technical and administrative assignments by gathering requirements and researching opportunities in support of the business development lifecycle. 

Responsibilities
  • Consults with the Business Development Team to identify requirements, maintain opportunity searches and assists with identifying growth areas in support of our corporate and investigator led opportunities.
  • Researches, assesses, collects, and reviews internal and external source information to maintain internal databases and content libraries to include the Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Engages with business development and operational leadership to assist with identifying and engaging subject matter experts.
  • Researches, evaluates, and provides feedback on trends and patterns in customer support requirements.
  • Prepares, updates, and coordinates development of digital and print materials to include capability statements/briefs, marketing materials, announcements, and content templates.
  • Supports drafting and editing of responses for various types of opportunity submissions.
  • Works with Legal, Contracts, operational teams to assist with agreement tracking, development, negotiations, and execution.
  • Supports participation in seminars, conference/association meetings, symposia and other events, including assisting with logistics as well as managing sponsorship and exhibiting opportunities.
  • Assists in management and assessment of external inquiries for partnership and collaboration.
  • Serves as back-up support to Business Development and Client Relationship Managers as necessary.
  • Assists with or implements other duties, special projects, or tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience consulting with stakeholders to identify and specify requirements.
  • Experience with managing various types of information, content, and databases.
  • Excellent writing/editing, proofreading, grammar and research skills (a writing and editing test maybe required).
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently source information and data.
  • Experience with biosciences, public health, clinical research operations, or Department of Defense Military Health and Research programs are preferred.
  • Understanding of the medical research development process within the department of defense preferred.
  • The ability to multi-task, remain flexible, and respond to changing priorities; organize and reprioritize multiple on-going projects.
  • Experience demonstrating initiative and effectively accomplishing tasks in timely manner.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Work Environment
  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.
Physical Capabilities
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
