Description

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), a rapidly growing management and social sciences consulting firm, is seeking a Business Development/Capture Manager. MSG provides consulting services across the federal government in the areas of technical assistance, research and evaluation, information and communications, and management and technology. Job Responsibilities/Duties
  • Provide general administrative support to the MSG International (MSGI) Business Development (BD) team.
  • Help to research and monitor potential/pending/active bid opportunities (via Deltek GovWin, Grants.gov, SAM.com, etc.) and promptly notify team members of released solicitations, subsequent amendments, extensions, Q&As, cancellations, etc.
  • Help to evolve, update and improve International BD resources and tools such as Smart Sheet and MS Excel worksheets including developing and presenting BD activity summary reports as requested.
  • Design, distribute, manage, and compile data requests for proposal efforts; ensure team deadlines are communicated and met.
  • Help develop and compile proposal responses including preparing kickoff decks, proposal response templates, past performance questionnaires, compliance matrices, acronym/abbreviation lists, and other materials as needed.
  • Provide writing and basic graphic design support as requested.
  • Collaborate with the Proposal Manager to help ensure proposal compliance.
  • Help manage international BD records, including organizing, storing, and tagging documents for easy access, retrieval, reporting and compliance.
  • Organize meetings; prepare necessary presentation materials and distribute as needed; attend and take notes; distribute minutes to all participants; participate in and facilitate meetings as needed.
  • Help to develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve MSGI processes and platforms.
  • Assist the proposal manager in providing user training and technical support for proposal contributors who are unfamiliar with MSGI processes/procedures and platforms (such as MS Teams Channels, SharePoint, Box, etc.)
  • Take time to understand MSG services, markets, content areas, and differentiators.
  • Develop a strong understanding of both customer requirements and MSGI's services.
  • Display an elevated level of verbal and written communication skills for presenting and information.
  • Foster relationships with potential partners, federal government contract officers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify, build, and manage relations with contingent staff and subject matter experts for potential proposals (key aspect for winning bids in new areas)
  • Serve as proposal coordinator (timeline, process, compliance, and related pieces) and support writing on non-technical areas, e.g., past performances, management, and resumes sections).
  • Work on and further MSG's knowledge management systems in file storage, SMEs database, capture information, etc.
  • Assist in the ongoing improvement of business development, capture, knowledge management, and strategic planning processes within the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, communication, or another closely related field of study, from an accredited college or university.
  • Two-five years' post-graduation progressive experience in business development or similar research-focused role(s); preferably in the government contracting or management consulting space.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to create high-quality marketing materials, proposals, and documents with short turn-around times.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and ability to efficiently organize and self-manage.
  • Ability to remain calm in tense, deadline-driven situations.
