Asahi Refining USA, Inc is Hiring a Human Resources Generalist Near Miami, FL

Full time position for a Human Resources Generalist in a Miami, FL manufacturing facility. We offer top wages, medical and dental insurance, 401(k) match. Wage dependent upon experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Answering employee requests and questions.
  • Benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, and temporary staffing. This includes all aspects of the recruitment process from maintaining online recruitment database, interview scheduling, conducting reference checks, maintaining relationships with contingency and temporary agencies, setting up pre-employment screening including background check and physical/drug screens.
  • Schedule and conduct new hire orientations. This includes providing new employees with basic information to aid in their transition as a new employee. Topics include security, payroll, health, and safety, medical, uniforms, benefits, policies, compensation programs, etc. Ensure that all new employee orientations are completed in an organized and professional manner.
  • Update HR files with employee change requests and processes appropriate paperwork such as benefits changes, address changes. Maintain payroll change log and assist with updating HRIS system.
  • Confers with managers and supervisors to determine training needs. Formulate training programs and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes and/or business systems. Research consultants and trainers to conduct training on recommended topics.
  • Administers occupational health exams including exam tracking, scheduling, and submitting order forms to Occupational Health Clinics.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
  • Handles labor and employee relations issues, including conducting investigations, mediating discussions, coaching supervisors, preparing disciplinary letters, and involved in disciplinary and termination meetings.
  • Ensures company’s HR practices are in compliance with required legislation.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Administers training plans as directed by HR Director and/or Site Management.
  • Administers annual and ad-hoc corporate programs such as Open Enrolment, Benefit communications, and Asahi program rollouts.
  • Coordinates employee recreational activities, employee functions and other employee related programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience and a minimum of two (2) years of Human Resources experience preferable in a manufacturing environment.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
  • Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
  • Requires effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated propensity to build positive relationships with employees and management.
  • Must place a high degree of importance on maintaining confidentiality of all employee data and Company confidential information.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently and developing realistic action plans. Must have well developed organizational skills.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Must be flexible, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize a heavy workload.
  • Ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills.
  • Must be bi-lingual - English and Spanish fluency required.
