Job Title: Chef

Location: West Village, NYC

Job Description:

We are actively seeking a skilled and innovative Chef to join our team in the vibrant West Village of NYC. In this role, you will be instrumental in curating unique and focused menus for our small cafes. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing kitchen programs and operations, maintaining exceptional standards, managing administrative tasks, and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain unique seasonal menus for three boutique locations
  • Lead, train, and motivate teams on service standards, quality, and consistency.
  • Maintain inventory and cost within 30% margins.
  • Oversee scheduling, training, and mediation.
  • Balance your time with 70% dedicated to behind-the-line cooking/service, rotated between our shops, and 30% to administrative tasks. 
  • Creating, recording and maintaining recipe, ingredient and allergen documents.
  • Maintain visibility as the culinary leader, building relationships with the community and staff.
  • Join regular meetings with the CEO and management to set goals, initiatives, and targets.
  • Coordinate and host regular communication and meetings with the culinary team.
  • Bring authenticity, creativity, and dedication to the role each day, fostering a fun work environment.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of behind-the-line kitchen experience with some management/leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of DOH health codes, must hold a NYC food handler’s certificate.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Fluent in English (Spanish language proficiency is a plus).

Benefits:

  • Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 annually based on skills and experience.
  • Paid time off.
