Human Resources Assistant - Part time

About Voces de la Frontera:

Key Responsibilities:
HR Program Support:
● Assist in the implementation of HR programs and initiatives such as performance
management, employee engagement, and training programs.
● Help organize and facilitate training sessions, workshops, and other HR events.
● Participate in employee engagement activities to promote a positive work culture.
● Assist HR Director in sending out important communications out to staff
● Assist in data base organization
Recruitment Support:
● Sort through HR directors email and identify applicants
● Schedule interviews and communicate with applicants regarding their application status.
Employee Onboarding:
● Help prepare and organize new hire orientation materials.
● Coordinate onboarding schedules and equipment set up for new employees.
● Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed by new hires.
Employee Records Management:
● Assist HR Director on yearly audits
● Assist HR Director with documentation and filing employee status changes, including
promotions, transfers, and terminations.
● Help schedule employee evaluations
Payroll Support:

● Aid in the preparation of payroll by helping collect timesheets on time
● Address payroll-related queries from employees and provide necessary support.
● Assist HR Director with managing 401k employee accounts and reports submission
Compliance and Policy Adherence:
● Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
● Assist in administering employee benefits programs and ensuring compliance with benefit
eligibility requirements.
● Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion
Qualifications:
● A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or equivalent
experience.
● Familiarity with basic HR functions such as recruitment, employee relation, benefits
administration, performance management, and HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) is
important.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with employees,
managers, and external stakeholders. This includes the ability to draft emails, memos, and other
HR-related documents.
● Interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
● The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records is crucial
in HR roles.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is typically required. Experience
with HRIS or other HR software systems is also a plus.
● Basic understanding of employment laws and regulations, such as those related to equal
employment opportunity (EEO), Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Family and Medical Leave
Act (FMLA), is beneficial.

Administrative support:
• Assist with English/Spanish translations for other departments

Part time: 20-30 hours weekly
Wage: $26.50 hourly
Reports to: HR Director/Operations Director

Part time Benefits:
● Company phone OR reimbursement to personal phone if willing to utilize it for work
● 401k with 3% match employer match after 6 months of employment
● purposes, in accordance with the Voces de la Frontera employee policy handbook
● Paid-time off includes: 40 hours vacation, 8 hours personal time, 24 hours bereavement and paid
holidays all in accordance with the Voces de la Frontera employee policy handbook. Eligible after
90-day probationary period
