Tingue, Brown and Company is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Atlanta, GA

Position: Payroll and Benefits Administrator

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer / VP of Human Resources

The position is responsible for a range of activities related to employee payroll and benefits administration. This role will process full cycle payroll, maintain employee database, and assist with the administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, 401(k) plan, company vehicles and mobile phones. The ideal person will serve as a reliable source of information for employer and employees, promptly answering questions regarding payroll and benefits.

Summary of Duties

  • Manage payroll processes, including tasks such as processing pay, handling employee status changes, managing benefit deductions, addressing levy/garnishments, tracking taxable fringe benefits, and monitoring vacation balances, among others.
  • Ensure that all aspects of Payroll, including pay rates, deductions, taxes, and time-related information, are handled promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state payroll regulations / withholdings, ERISA / 401(k), and state wage and hour laws.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with the HR/Recruiting department to enhance efficiency and facilitate information sharing.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to communicate with all management levels effectively.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiently manage multiple priorities, ensuring a balanced approach.
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment, contributing to problem-solving efforts.
  • Uphold high ethical standards, consistently demonstrating integrity in actions and decisions.
  • Display a strong work ethic and take full ownership of projects and their outcomes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for addressing questions arising in payroll processing and benefits.
  • Maintain the documentation flow for payroll updates/changes and audit employee files for changes.
  • Collaborate in identifying potential risks and implementing additional controls when required.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to facilitate improvements in both internal and external systems, as well as ongoing enhancements to processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to the identification and testing of necessary system upgrades
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding pay calculations, taxes, deductions, and benefits, serving as a knowledgeable resource for various payroll-related matters within the organization

Requirements:

  • BA in Business/Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ payroll experience is required, manufacturing environment a plus
  • Benefits administration experience a plus
  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platform, Paycom is highly preferred
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of state and federal laws concerning employee benefits and payroll is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

· Should possess strong leadership/management skills

· Prior experience working in a closely held company would be a plus

Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
