Scan Global Logistics is Hiring a Remote Business Development Manager

Scan Global Logistics is a leading freight forwarding company, specializing in providing comprehensive logistics solutions to clients across various industries. We are seeking a dynamic and seasoned Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and building and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers while expanding our customer base. The ideal individual should be highly motivated, performance-driven, and adept at sales, possess exceptional negotiation and interpersonal abilities, with a proven track record in closing deals. Collaborating closely with the commercial sales and operations teams to ensure the smooth and efficient delivery of our services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact and the face of SGL in all interactions with customers.
  • Generate sales leads and actively solicit new accounts to expand business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Foster a robust network of referrals within the territory to create new avenues for revenue growth.
  • Travel within the assigned sales area to visit potential and existing customers.
  • Conduct face-to-face sales meetings, presentations, and conference calls with prospective and existing customers to showcase company offerings and enhance brand awareness.
  • Offer innovative solutions and effectively address client's shipping needs to provide value-added services.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and prospecting activities.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management to track performance and progress towards targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure industry-leading customer service on every shipment.
  • Work closely with the commercial and sales teams to achieve collective sales targets.
  • Implement a structured sales management process to assist the sales team in identifying and prioritizing key customers and prospects.
  • Conduct monthly team meetings to promote commercial awareness and align strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed targeted revenue goals by closing new business.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the company's services.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations, trends, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or sales within the freight forwarding/logistics industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving attitude.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and demands.
  • Ability to travel as required.

Location: North-Bay, South-Bay and Central, Sacramento, Reno, Modesto & Fresno

Work Location: Hybrid/Remote

Pay: BASE Commission
