Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will contribute to Kingfish sales initiatives by supporting PE sponsor lead generation and prospect maturation through various communication channels. This position communicates our firm’s value proposition and will be the first point of contact between Kingfish and our prospective PE partner decision makers. Prior experience presenting and marketing to C-Suite management at clients or at senior levels within PE is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative self-starter who is able to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial work environment.
Responsibilities
Creatively guide strategy for Kingfish’s approach to sales prospect development
o Identify outreach opportunities based on fund news / events / networking, reconnecting with legacy prospects and generating referrals from existing clients
o Create and deliver high quality written communicating to catalyze lead generation
o Build strategic list of prospective clients in alignment with Kingfish vision and objectives to proactively target with subsequent strategy initiating dialog with key decision makers at those firms
Cultivate relationships with PE partners through high-quality interactions
o Executing outreach plans (emails, other outreach) to penetrate senior leadership within target accounts (C-level and management)
o Initial conversations with senior members of private equity firms resulting in meetings with Kingfish Partners
Manage sales cycle process with active prospects and Kingfish internal sales operations team
o Track priority of accounts / relationships, setting goals, and managing business development / sales activity and results against goals
o Dictate next steps to creatively and thoughtfully advance those prospects to close
o Manage India based sales operations team goals, performance and internal development
Support Kingfish advisory division growth objectives
o Partner with Kingfish Leadership team to develop, track, and execute strategic business development KPIs
o Performing internal data quality reviews
Candidate Profile
B.A or B.S with 4 - 5 years of work experience in sales or business development
Relationship Building: High EQ with advanced written/verbal communication skills, executive presence, and an ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Process Management: ability to adeptly scope and manage multiple concurrent sales leads
Proactive & Collaborative: a mentor to junior colleagues that takes initiative to help the team and the firm
Creativity: Demonstration of intellectual curiosity that leads to new and effective ways of building relationships with partnership prospects
Client / Account Management: emerging track record of success managing complex and demanding client relationships
