Job Description
Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Reports to: Plant Manager, Indirectly to VP, HR & Safety
General Purpose: The HR Generalist will multitask through actively participating in the recruiting process, analyzing employee turnover and retention, addressing employee matters and organizing work activities to make our company a premier employment destination for the top talent in our industry. This position is responsible for coordinating any functions pertaining to employment, assisting labor management and employee relations. This position will carry out employment policies, processes and practices as well as recommending changes to management at their location. Will lead employee onboarding and represent Rudolph Foods in its cultural journey. The HR Generalist will conduct HR practices and objectives at both facilities that will provide an employee-oriented; high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, team work, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains knowledge of state legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
· Recruits, interviews, tests and selects employees to fill vacant positions
· Assists with new employee background checks
· Oversees and assists the scheduling of new hire drug screenings and pre-employment physicals
· Plans and conducts employee onboarding, development and training to foster a positive culture and attitude towards company goals
· Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests, questions, and counseling while remaining confidential, professional and unbiased
· Assists plant management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and keep VP, HR & Safety notified of serious issues.
· Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs
· Assist with administering employee benefits programs such as health, and disability insurances, retirement plans, vacation, leave of absence, FMLA and employee assistance
· Investigates accidents and assists with employee workers compensation claims
· Monitors the tracking of the OSHA-required data
· Prepares employee separation notices, related documentation (i.e. unemployment claims) and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
· Keeps all information dealing with personal and proprietary nature secret, confidential, and secure at all times
· Keep all employees records in a confidential, professional and organized manner, keep everything scanned and stored on ADP database. (No sensitive data should be stored on local computers)
· Manage each site to ensure HR Admin performs E-Verify and I-9 documentation.
· Manager sites payroll tasks, including entering new hires, benefits, terminations, verifying time and attendance weekly.
· Ensure each site is maintaining attendance in ADP and assists manager and supervisors in issuing employee warnings and terminations
· Coordinates and managers all safety training is completed, including Red Cross training, dosimeter testing, hearing tests, DFSP meetings, etc.
· Assist with employee and company communication and announcements, including but not limited to new human resource policies and procedures
· Takes notes as needed in safety meetings, labor management meetings, and employee relation meetings.
· Assists Plant Manager and VP, HR & Safety with various research projects and/or special projects.
· Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Rudolph Foods Company, Inc. and the department.
· Maintains federal, state, employee and safety bulletin boards
· Demonstrates strong leadership skills, company values and culture while performing essential duties and responsibilities
· Performs other duties as assigned
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TOO:
· Assist in each site’s safety programs
· Ensure all employee safety training is completed
· Ensure all levels are following safety practices, policies and procedures
· Ensure each sites safety team is meeting weekly and being productive
· Follow all Food Safety regulations
· Wear hearing protection in all areas of the plant
· Follow all common employee safety practices
· Participate in weekly and corporate safety meetings and systems
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline from four-year college or university required
· Bilingual in English and Spanish including; reading, writing, speaking and translating (desired).
· Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills

· Strong leadership skills
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Detail oriented
· Ability to multi-task and work independently
· Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment
· Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
· Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development
· Two (2) to Four (4) years relevant work experience in Human Resources
· Knowledge of HR & Payroll operations, Federal and State Regulations and administration required
· Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
· Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement, preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
