The Human Resources Generalist provides leadership and guidance to the organization in all areas of HR operations. The HR Generalist assists the Vice President of Human Resources in setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices. Human Resources Generalist Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains Cooper staff. 
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluation input for Cooper managers.
• Handles discipline and termination of teammates in accordance with company policy.
• Complies with all aspects of compliance including the Employee Handbook, various reporting obligations, and required legal notifications and submissions.
• Provides consulting for personnel matters as they arise and is adept at coaching and influencing all levels of the organization up to and including investigations.
• Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
• Maintains current knowledge and application of all relevant laws and regulations at the local, state, and national level relating to employment and ensures organizational compliance. 
• Ensures that employee files and records are properly and securely maintained. 
• Complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) while performing all duties.
• Maintains a positive attitude and adheres to the Cooper purpose and core values.
• Completes duties on site with consistent, regular, and reliable attendance. 
• Accomplishes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 The ideal Human Resources Generalist will possess the following required skills/abilities 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Exceptional interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to pivot and transition between different but related business lines and workforces. 

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. 

· Proficient use of all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

· Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems. Paylocity a plus.
