Neighborhood Association is Hiring a Human Resources Director Near Bronx, NY

Title: Human Resources Director

Reports to: Executive Director, Human Resources

FLSA Status: Exempt from overtime

Summary:

The Director of Human Resource and Training/Development will lead, develop, and implement the policies, activities of the Human Resources department while ensuring legal compliance and implementation of NAICA’s mission and talent strategy. He will also direct the design, planning and implementation of Corporate Training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of NAICA.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Recruits, interviews, and hires new staff for the department. 
  • Collaborates with managing the daily workflow of the department. 
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations to the staff. 
  • Handles employee relations, investigations discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. 
  • Manages exit interviews and helps implement policies to reduce turnover.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and strategy related to recruiting, staff development and retention. 
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements training initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs. 
  • Oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. 
  • Helps Identify staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management. 
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system. 
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff. 
  • Collaborates with functional management teams across NAICA to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as effectiveness of established programs.
  • Provides engaging communications about program information to encourage participation and highlight the value and benefits of training.
  • Oversees and establishes relationships with vendors to provide additional outside training programs.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organization Development, or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • A least 7 seven years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions required.
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations, preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
