What You Will Do Facility Maintenance Tec 1 ($46,300 - $71,400) As member of Maintenance and Site Services - Science and Technology Operations (MSS-STO), the Facility Maintenance Tec 1 is an entry-level position helping ensure the STO Life Safety Program and its associated equipment remains in compliance with regulatory standards such as NFPA 10. This position will require interacting with facility tenants and performing onsite inspections and providing consolidated reports of the inspection results. Facility Maintenance Tec 2 ($51,200 - $78,700) In addition to the Facility Maintenance Tec 1 position, the selected candidate will be working independently or mentoring entry level tec's. This will also require the individual to provide process improvement solutions for inspections sequence of operations and data base entries. What You Need Minimum Job Requirements: The responsibilities of this Facility Maintenance Tec include, but are not limited to, the following: * Participating through on-the-job training (OJT) in work execution of STO Life Safety inspections and maintenance.
* Develop an understanding (through OJT) of planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure completion of inspections and maintenance in a timely manner.
* May assist in coordinating with operational and programmatic activities to ensure timely access to life safety equipment within laboratory facilities.
* Develop an understanding (through OJT) of how to document work using Mobile Work Package and various tracking programs to ensure adequate tracking of equipment status so that deficiencies are corrected promptly.
* Develop an understanding (through OJT) of how to maintain a safe, secure and environmentally compliant work environment as defined by LANL policies and procedures.
* Ensure work has been completed according to the job scope.
* Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by line management that may be needed to support the maintenance organization.
Additional Job Requirements for Facility Tec 2: In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires: * Ability to provide mentorship to entry level employees.
* Demonstrate effective communication up and down the chain of command.
* Ability to provide technical information from life safety inspections to various audiences.
Education/Experience at lower level: Position requires a High School Diploma and 1 year of relevant experience. Desired Qualifications: * Introductory-level experience tracking preventive and corrective work orders from initiation to completion
* Life Safety maintenance work experience
* Familiarity with CMMS Asset Suites, Mobile Work Package, and other tracking database, Oracle OBI Reports and/or Primavera resource loading/scheduling
* Basic knowledge or experience working with a Facility Service Request (FSR) system
* Active Q clearance

Additional Details Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances. *Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information. New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer. Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status. Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
