Business Development Representative to support the top-of-the-funnel sales process.

About this role:

Simply put, our Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for handling sourced leads, prospecting, and nurturing leads into new client accounts.

In this role, you will develop our sales pipeline by identifying rising business opportunities and building what will become long-term relationships with prospects to continue company growth, increase revenue, and improve profits.

We are looking for candidates who have an entrepreneurial spirit and are looking to make their mark. This role is ideal for emerging sales professionals with some experience as an BDR who are eager to elevate their career in SaaS Sales and work with enterprise clients.

This is opportunity, supporting our US operations based in Denver, CO. 

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through targeted outbound and inbound campaigns using telephone, email, and the web - you’ll be able to build creative outbound campaigns and iterate to find what is most effective
  • Support the Sales Managers and broader sales team within an assigned territory by conducting a high volume of prospecting for open leads (our BDRs aren’t shy about picking up the phone)
  • Set qualified meetings for assigned Sales Managers based on set criteria
  • Become a product expert and partner with Sales Managers to consult the best-customized solutions to meet prospective customers’ communication needs
  • Clients experience multiple contacts in their journey with us, so it is in our DNA to work together across the Sales, Marketing and Operations departments
  • Enjoy the thrill of hunting and prospecting and a “do-whatever-it-takes” mentality

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A strong business and sales acumen, positive attitude, and are an approachable, professional relationship builder ready to make an impact
  • 1-2 years of experience as a top performer in a client-facing role, quota-carrying role
  • Understand that timing is everything; there is no standard sales cycle for our products - some prospects are ready to buy right away, while others need more time
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking with prospective clients of all levels, including C-level executives
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Google Workspace, Excel, and other word-processing tools
  • Prior knowledge of Hubspot or other CRM system
  • Experience using Sales Engagement and Sales intel software like GovSpend, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, etc.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time-management skills

Nice to haves:

  • Prior experience working as an outbound BDR or SDR with a SaaS or related company
  • Experience selling technology or E-Learning solutions
  • Experience selling into complex organizations across various industries

Our hiring process:

We have structured our Interview process to mirror the Sales process. This allows you to showcase your sales skills while we get to know you as a person and a sales professional. Along the way, you’ll learn more about InPlace Software, our teams, and the details of this opportunity.

Our recruitment process is also entirely remote, utilizing video conferencing (MS Teams).

  • Initial Interview with our Talent Acquisition Manager (30-45 mins)
  • Written Evaluation and Presentation
  • Technical Skills Interview with the hiring team (30-45 mins)
  • Potentially a final interview, if needed, to meet CEO (~30 minutes)
  • If all goes well, we proceed to a reference check and offer stage.

Our targeted Base Salary Range for this position is $60,000. Additionally, compensation for sales roles includes a commission structure.
