Reporting directly to the Segment Vice President, Finance, the Vice President, Finance (Grid Automation) will serve as a key financial advisor to Division President, Grid Automation and will be responsible for the accounting, financial reporting & controls, financial planning & analysis, operations, and commercial finance support for the Grid Automation businesses.

The Grid Automation business is primarily comprised of a series of businesses acquired over the past 5 years that design, manufacture, and sell a wide variety of protection and control, switching and smart infrastructure devices and communication systems for electric, water and gas utilities in the US and internationally. In 2023, the business recorded sales of ~$1.0B. The SBU is comprised of following Business Units (2023 Third Party Sales in brackets):

• Meters ($383M) - Portsmouth NH, Bilbao, Spain, Manilla, Philippines
• AMI ($236M) - St. Louis MO, Solon OH and Herndon VA
• Switches & Fusing ($198M) Leeds AL and Jaurez MEX
• Utility Automation ($76M) - Boonton NJ
• Protection & Controls ($82M) - Largo FL, Westbury NY
• Smart Grid Solutions ($25M) - Herndon VA

The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the Grid Automation leadership team and help execute the profitable growth strategy of the business as well as be a key member of the HUS finance team. In addition to leading and developing a team of approximately 40 finance and accounting professionals across the Grid Automation strategic business unit, an important aspect of this role is to partner with the various enterprise and segment shared service organizations to ensure accurate, timely, reliable financial accounting and reporting and a collaborative approach.

Overall Responsibilities for the Role:

• Serve as a financial advisor and trusted business partner to the Division President, Grid Automation, and the Grid Automation leadership team.
• Partner with key stakeholders to work on and support Grid Automation strategic plan
• Oversee all aspects of finance operations for the Grid Automation strategic business unit, including accounting, financial reporting & controls, financial planning & analysis, and operations and commercial finance.
• Ensure proper design and operational effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting,
• Lead and manage the annual financial planning process, as well as the monthly and quarterly forecasting process and monthly and quarterly financial closes.
• Develop appropriate tracking methods and analytical models surrounding orders, revenue, margins, expenses, manufacturing production spending & variances, cash flow and other key performance measures.
• Support and track ongoing productivity initiatives, capital expenditures, restructuring initiatives, strategic investments in new product innovation, as well as other key areas.
• Support acquisition growth strategy, including thorough evaluation and due diligence of target companies, integration planning and seamless execution of acquisition integration activities.
• Support internal audit reviews as well as Hubbell's integrated US GAAP audit and applicable statutory audits as needed.
• Serve as champion for SAP implementations across the Grid Automation businesses

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting or Finance
• CPA, CMA and/or MBA preferred.
• Ability to understand complex revenue recognition and other complex accounting transactions.
• 15 years of finance and accounting positions of increasing responsibility
• Supervisory / managerial experience
• Demonstrates executive presence and proven ability to communicate efficiently and effectively across various levels of the organization.
• Strong knowledge of technical accounting, cost accounting, financial reporting, financial modeling, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and strategic planning, capital planning, productivity management
• SAP experience a strong plus.

• Strong analytical skills, advanced Excel skills, PowerPoint, Power BI data visualization experience
