Responsibilities

Position Summary:The Vice President of Revenue Cycle will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle process to ensure maximum revenue generation and efficiency. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in revenue cycle management, a deep understanding of healthcare finance, and a proven track record of driving results.

Essential Duties include the following:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize the revenue cycle process, including revenue capture, billing, coding, collections, reimbursement, insurance contracting and credentialing.
  • Lead and mentor a team of revenue cycle professionals, providing guidance, support, and resources to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Analyze financial data, trends, and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance revenue cycle performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and clinical departments, to drive process improvement/continuous improvement projects that resolve issues and improve revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and reimbursement policies to ensure adherence and mitigate risk.
  • Implement best practices, tools, and technologies to automate and optimize revenue cycle processes (including utilization of robotic process automation and/or AI), reducing manual interventions and improving accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with payers, vendors, and external partners to negotiate contracts, resolve disputes, and improve revenue cycle outcomes.
  • Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and presentations to senior leadership, providing insights into revenue cycle performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensures adherence to highly compliant HIPAA, billing, and collecting processes.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the revenue cycle team, fostering collaboration and driving results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement methodologies, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Demonstrated success in optimizing revenue cycle performance, improving collections, and reducing days in accounts receivable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in revenue cycle software, EMR systems (NetHealth preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with clearinghouses, i.e., Waystar
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Revenue Cycle (CPHRC) or Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) designation preferred.
