Drive Social Media is Hiring an Associate Vice President of Strategy Near St. Louis, MO

The Associate Vice President of Strategy plays a pivotal leadership role, driving the company's strategic direction and spearheading growth initiatives across multiple markets. This role involves direct supervision of the Directors of Strategy in their respective markets, with a reporting line to the Chief Operations Officer. The AVP of Strategy will lead a team of strategists and analysts to assess market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop actionable strategies to drive business success.

Additionally, the AVP is responsible for spearheading the training and development initiatives within the Strategy Department across Drive Social Media's offices. This includes nurturing talent at various levels, from Associate Account Executives to Senior Directors of Strategy.

Responsibilities…

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability. Lead market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competition.
  • Responsible for the financial success of the book of business under their purview, including achieving retention goals, assisting in achieving profitability goals, and forecasting financial outlook.
  • Manage and mentor a team of strategists and analysts to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives. Provide strategic guidance and support to the executive team on key business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape to identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in strategic planning processes.
  • Review and approve all addendums and credit requests for all accounts under their purview. 
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with all associated Directors of Strategy to discuss retention, account health, and staff development.
  • Conduct quarterly skip-level one-on-one meetings with all associated strategy team members to discuss their development and account health. These meetings should include a comprehensive audit covering meeting types, accounts, training and development, addendums, overall performance, and retention.
  • Participate in the hiring process, including interviewing and onboarding new employees. Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are equipped with necessary skills. Document employee performance and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements…

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 8 years of experience in strategic planning, marketing, or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience working with a variety of paid media channels, including Meta Ads and Google Ads, at a marketing agency or in-house team.
  • Demonstrable experience with digital campaign planning and a solid understanding of marketing and advertising techniques.
  • A people person with a genuine desire to drive financial growth for small to medium-sized businesses.
  • Ability to think adeptly around both creative and analytics to drive ROI.
  • Strong grasp of media buying best practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite; working knowledge of SalesForce software is a strong advantage.
  • A true leader who is not afraid to call out team inefficiencies.
  • Up to 25% travel required.
