Position: Bookkeeper – Administrative Assistant
Christ Memorial Lutheran Church is seeking a highly organized, results-oriented team player to serve as a bookkeeper/administrative assistant, reporting to the Director of Operations.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support for office staff, manage daily office operations and perform various bookkeeping tasks including:
- Use QuickBooks to track contributions, tuition and other financial information
- Handle A/R and A/P including bill entry, invoicing, online bill payments, collections, coding and applying payments.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, budget tracking and various financial reports for the preschool.
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of all accounts to ensure proper recording of transactions.
- Assist with payroll data entry, verification and submission to payroll service provider.
- Greet and assist visitors and vendors; coordinate incoming package and mail deliveries.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, respond to phone and email inquiries; forward prayer and other requests.
- Manage the office calendar and schedule appointments.
- Perform data entry tasks; maintain and update attendance and contact information.
- File and organize paperwork, both physical and electronic.
- Order office, Vacation Bible School and communion supplies.
- Coordinate with staff to organize meetings, weekly services, special services and occasional events.
- Coordinate with staff to update and publish weekly church bulletin.
- Occasional website and Facebook updating.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and the Pastor.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent education in business, accounting or finance
- 8 years or more experience as a bookkeeper and office administrator
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft 365 Suite; familiarity with website design programs (wix.com) preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service focus
- Attend a Christian church
Salary
- Commensurate with experience and qualifications
