PURPOSEDirect and oversee the accounting functions of Worldwide Express to include expense planning, budgeting, capital planning, financial reporting, and expense control. Oversee the accounts payable and account receivables functions. Establish and maintain Worldwide Express’ accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES •Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate preparation and timely dissemination of financial management reports including monthly financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP, and annual audits and budgets.•Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.•Oversee the performance of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing and recording of transactions.•Direct, drive and coordinate processes and reporting for preparation of Corporate and departmental budgets. •Establish and maintain monitoring and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.•Develop internal controls and oversee audit of policies and procedures.•Provide leadership to accounting teams through coaching, feedback, development goals and performance management. •Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.•Prepare financial reports and present findings and recommendations to top management.•Contribute to strategic planning, direction and goal-setting for the department.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES•General Ledger and financial statement preparation and maintenance.•Accounting software systems.•Financial and Accounting principles and standards.•Business Acumen.•Communications.•Project Management.•Time Management.•Financial Management.•Problem Resolution.•Leadership.QUALIFICATIONS:•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. •8 years in finance and accounting.•3 years management experience.•CPA.
