QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION: (Education and Experience Required)

Minimum Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related counseling field.* Must be knowledgeable in issues of intimate partner violence with demonstrated skills in group counseling.*

Within 6 months of hire, before being able to facilitate or co-facilitate group sessions the manager must have previously completed or will need to attend a required training of 30 hours specific to working with perpetrators of intimate partner violence from an abuser intervention program in Maryland.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:

Provide overall oversight of the coordination of services to /batterer/abusers who are court ordered including:

• Manage the staff and contractors of the program.
• Liaison with the Family Violence Unit regarding individual client status and progress and all court-related issues.
• Establishment and oversight of 1) partner contact system and 2) program evaluation system.
• Conduct intake/assessment of potential group participants
• Ensure all data for the program is collected, complete and submit reporting requirements to funders.
• Attend monthly Domestic Violence Coordination Council meetings, meetings with other Baltimore County Batterers Service providers, and supervisory meetings with Clinical Director and other programs as required.
• Act as group co-leader and facilitate abuser intervention curriculum.
• Establish and coordinate additional abuser intervention and prevention in other settings for youth and adults in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Provide supervision of staff and meet with the contractual group facilitators as follows:

• Establish routine meetings with all staff and contractual group facilitators
• Discuss on-going therapeutic issues
• Facilitate transfer of clients from Phase I to Phase II groups;
• Ensure uniformity and quality of intervention through out all groups;
• Oversee partner contact program
• Coordination of payments from class participants and approve monthly invoices from contractual facilitators

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field (Masters or MSW Preferred)
• Group therapy: 2 years (Required), direct knowledge and experience in the field of intimate partner violence.
• Knowledge of issues of gender-based violence
• Proven experience with trauma informed counseling
• Demonstrates cultural competency in working with a diverse population
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Thrives in a dynamic environment
• Knowledge of database management systems
• Availability one evening and Saturday morning per week is required
• Bi-lingual highly encouraged to apply
• 2 years direct clinical service with batterers, preferable

HOURS: Position is Full-Time (40 hours w/ paid lunch break) standard 9:00am- 5:00pm on Mon., Tues, and Wed. 1:00pm-9:00pm on Thursdays, Fri 9:00am - 1:00pm with evening and Saturday 10am to 1pm (exact schedule/hours can be discussed with director)

Location: Position works out of the Baltimore County office location but will need to be flexible to visit the Baltimore City Office and service sites in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
