Challengers Independent Living is a non-profit organization who provides life skills services to young adults preparing to age out of Maryland's foster care system. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual who is passionate about the well being Maryland's most vulnerable population. The successful candidate will need to be eligible to obtain state certification in residential childcare. The individual must be able to learn and interpret comar regulation for a residential child care program and demonstrate competency though a state administered exam. Challengers will provide necessary information and study materials for the exam. Daily job responsibilities includes but will not be limited to supervising a home of seven females between the ages of 15-19 years of age, oversee the implementation of the organizations' independent living model, supervise and lead a team of 12 individuals, provide onsite leadership and stability, assist with training and development of paraprofessionals, interact with the local department of social services for placement referrals, ensure compliance with comar regulations, oversee the physical plant's upkeep and maintenance, maintain adequate staff to client ratios, develop creative recreational activities that promote healthy development, access community resources and complete other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Excellent opportunity for an expiring leader to learn, develop and practice administrative responsibilities and skills. Plenty of room to exercise creative autonomy within the framework of the program's model. Individual must be able to work autonomously with support.
