Economic Empowerment Coordinator.
Established in 1979, TurnAround, Inc., provides a variety of victim-centered services for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking, is currently seeking a qualified Economic Empowerment Coordinator. The Economic Empowerment Coordinator is responsible for providing survivors of abuse comprehensive vocational/educational services that assist them in rebuilding their lives to establish financial independence and increased self-determination. The Economic Empowerment Coordinator implements survivor-centered , trauma-informed strategies to address economic obstacles and access to resources. This position requires some background and knowledge of issues relating to intimate partner and sexual violence and human trafficking client advocacy and community resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Economic Empowerment Coordinator provides high-quality, trauma-informed, economic development-related services for agency clients to help them achieve short-term and intermediate goals toward stability through employment and/or longer-term education. The Economic Empowerment Coordinator provides educational or vocational readiness activities, financial literacy and life skills training and pre-employment counseling and supports, including: creation of a functional resume, job application completion, interview preparation,, appropriate interview attire, development of job-search strategies, strengthening or development of basic hard skills such as reading, writing, math, computer skills, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must have knowledge of human trafficking and intimate partner and sexual violence, skill in crisis intervention and providing direct services to survivors. Legal advocacy and victim advocacy experience is preferred. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred in vocational counseling, education, psychology, social work, human services, or related field. Associate degree considered as minimum with additional relevant work experience. Please submit cover letter and resume to Advocacy and Resource Program Director.
