SUMMARY
Provides human resources benefit services to district employees, retirees, and separated employees. Advises and interprets routine benefit regulations for the district. Researches human resources information to resolve benefit issues. Collaborates with district staff and others to ensure that customer service is met. Trains new employees within the assigned functional areas as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- DEPENDING ON ASSIGNED FUNCTIONAL AREA:
Four years administrative or Human Resources experience, which includes benefits and basic bookkeeping/accounting experience.
OR
An Associate’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related field AND two years of related experience.
Knowledge and ability to use spreadsheet, database, word processing, HRIS, or equivalent programs.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
Excellent customer service skills.
Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
May be additional requirements depending on the functional area assigned.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related field.
Experience in a school district setting.
Professional HR Certification (such as SHRM-CP or PHR).
Working knowledge of government regulations that relate to employee insurance benefits.
Working knowledge of government regulations that relate to employee retirement benefits and the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Working knowledge of Federal FMLA regulations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
Ability to work an irregular work schedule and overtime as needed
