Position Summary:

The Detail Manager has overall responsibility for making a car looks its best and is someone who takes pride in performing an exceptional job. Must have an eye for detail. An individual is required to multi-task and adjust to the workings of a transitional weather environment.

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities:

Supervisory

• Direct and supervise operations of the detail employees and Finish Line
• Work closely with General Manager and Site Operations Team
• Execute departmental open and close duties and follow designated procedures
• Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions
• Ensure a safe environment for all employees and customers by ensuring compliance with safety procedures and report safety or maintenance issues to management
• Maintain customer’s overall experience, products and services, scheduling and labor cost control with respect to historical performance and seasonality
• Interview, Hire, Train and Develop a team of auto detailers ensuring employees have a clear idea of what is expected of them, standards of acceptable and unacceptable performance, frequent measurement against these standards, and then provide appropriate training to close any performance gaps
• Communicate effectively at all levels with employees, customers, peers, and management
• Motivate auto detail team to complete job tasks efficiently and effectively
• Ensure proper customer care
• Facilitate and assess damage claims
• Ensure compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, and policies at Local, State and Federal levels
• Delegate authority to employees when appropriate
• Support company initiatives, including but not limited to marketing, promotions, sales, customer service, and talent management initiatives
• Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Keep the entire property spotlessly clean and organized
• Other duties as assigned

Operations:

• Detail the interior and exterior of vehicles
• Apply polishes, conditioners, waxes and/or masking materials to preserve, protect, and restore vehicle’s interior and exterior.
• Clean and vacuum vehicle’s interior carpets to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Clean upholstery and other surfaces using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
• Exceed customer expectations by being friendly to customers and handling vehicles with extreme care.
• Pull and lift equipment and hoses.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous car wash or detail experience
• High School Diploma or GED

Requires the ability to interact with others, interpret spoken messages and utilize reason to resolve problems. Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, and frequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, kneeling, being mobile on uneven surfaces, squeezing and crouching. Requires frequent lifting and carrying of 1-25 pounds (occasional up to 50#).
