SUMMARY:
Under direction of the President/CEO (Programs), the Vice President of Human Resources creates, communicates, and implements the mission, vision and direction for GISA’s Human Resources function. In addition to these primary duties, the incumbent also provides administrative expertise and direction to the other business functions, while serving as their strategic business partner in support of overall company goals and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Demonstrate company values at all times.
· Manage and continue to develop HR team.
· Carry out activities of the Human Resources discipline, including awareness of and timely response to emerging employee issues internal to the organization, or resulting from local, state or federal initiatives.
· Direct and carry out activities related to workforce planning, on-boarding, engagement strategies, succession planning, performance management, employee relations and related investigations, and recruiting.
· Partner with all business unit leaders to plan, develop and implement HR and other administrative solutions aligned with unit initiatives and the GISA strategic plan.
· Seek out, develop and implement best practices in support of departmental strategic goals.
· Analyze trends and emerging issues and collaborate with appropriate team members to guide change initiatives.
· Insure regulatory requirements, including the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards, are met or exceeded; serve as the CARF HR contact for audits/ surveys.
· Under guidance from President/CEOs, lead annual negotiations for insurance and benefit selections, and renewals with an emphasis on mitigating risk while controlling cost.
· Manage HR vendor relationships such as ADP, insurance broker and SimpliVerified.
· Carry out related administrative tasks, insuring policy and administrative compliance.
· Extract and compile HRIS data for reporting purposes as required, to include, but not limited to DOL, EEOC, OSHA, CARF, etc.
· In partnership with senior team, develop annual strategic plan and budget to support plan. Carry out plan and stay within budget projections.
· Attend meetings, seminars, etc. which relate to the activities for the organization’s human capital.
· Facilitate good communications between employees and management through interpersonal and professional communication.
· Follow all company and department policies and procedures.
· Ensure all safety rules are adhered to; Report accidents or injuries immediately.
· Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. and persons receiving services.
· Assist in other areas as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field
· Minimum of five (5) years’ Human Resources management experience, to include knowledge of recruiting, benefits, employment law, performance management and affirmative action
· Minimum seven (7) years’ supervisory experience
· Knowledge of HRIS systems
· Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to the Human Resources functions
· Possess current Arizona driver’s license with acceptable driving record as established by insurance carrier and ability to travel within and out of state as necessary.
· Highly organized.
· Strong decision-making skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
· Ability to convey a positive and professional image to everyone.
· Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
· Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, customers, donors, and persons receiving services.
· Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude and a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
