Thor Solutions, LLC is Hiring a Junior Administrative Assistant Near Washington, DC

THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated Junior Administrative Assistant to support of the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Assistant Program Executive Office (APEO) in Washington DC. The analyst will use knowledge of internal program and external department processes to assist with program management services.
Typical Responsibilities: The candidate’s responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:

  • Provide administrative support to APEO members and staff
  • Update administrative policy documents, maintain records.
  • Update and organize communications methods and meetings between teams and leadership
  • Communicate effectively in person and on telephone
  • Ensure ordering of office supplies and maintain inventory
  • Assist with onboarding of new personnel and visitors.
  • Provide assistance to Program Offices.
Location: Hybrid. ~2 -3 days/week onsite at USCG Headquarters in Washington DC, and remainder may be flex/telework. Position may require additional regular onsite days, up to full time onsite, based on contract & customer requirements.
Travel: Up to 10% travel is anticipated.
US Citizenship Required: Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.
Typical Physical Activity: Desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion.
Security Clearance Eligibility Required: This position requires a DoD Secret security clearance. A qualified candidate must either:
  • Already possess an active or interim Secret security clearance (preferred);
  • OR be eligible for a Secret security clearance upon hire.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Bachelors degree in related field is preferred.
  • One (1) year of general experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency and experience with common productivity software, including the Microsoft Office suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience supporting USCG or USN surface programs is preferred.
