STEP CG is Hiring a Human Resources Coordinator Near Cincinnati, OH

As a Human Resources Coordinator at STEP CG, you will coordinate and aid in duties related to the operations of the Human Resources department, providing administrative support to the human resource function to include record-keeping, file maintenance, recruiting, onboarding and HRIS entry.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with management, customers, partners, and team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in the Human Resources profession; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement process and policy changes.
  • Set an example as an ethical, responsive, and reliable member of STEP CG and its Human Resources team communicating with management, customers, partners, and team members.
  • Constructively problem solve and strive to exceed the company’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Adaptable and flexible to navigate changes smoothly and adjust to meet evolving needs.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with employee health benefit administration including new enrollments, changes, and benefit terminations.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new employees and off-boarding of separated employees.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and enforcement of human resources policies and programs in collaboration with the Human Resources Director.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the company HRIS and other platforms to ensure accurate, up-to-date, and appropriately accessible records.
  • Facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment process, including reviewing job descriptions and hiring criteria, posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting phone screenings, and scheduling interviews.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Support inclusive and equitable recruiting and retention efforts of STEP CG.
  • Maintain job position descriptions and inventory.
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding company policies and procedures, benefits, leaves of absences, and other HR-related concerns or inquiries.
  • Complete forms I-9 accurately and thoroughly, verify I-9 documentation and maintain organized and compliant I-9 files.
  • Create and distribute monthly company newsletter.
  • Foster positive employee relations and coordinate employee recognition and engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Help with special projects and other tasks as necessary or assigned.
Ideal Candidate’s Qualifications and Experience
  • Any combination of training, education, and/or experience that provides for the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties listed above, including a degree in Human Resources or related field, Human Resources certifications, or experience in Human Resources, recruiting, or other related fields.
  • Working understanding of human resource principles and knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Able to push, pull and lift 30 lbs., and able to stoop, bend and reach on a regular basis.
This position primarily operates out of our company headquarters office in Covington, KY with the flexibility to work remotely from home. Ideal candidates are located in or near Covington, KY and Cincinnati, OH.
