Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based upon business needs.
Job Purpose
The Human Resource Generalist will provide support in the development and application of HR Strategies and will play a key role in maintaining a positive and productive work environment which fosters employee engagement, team collaboration and business growth. This position will develop and execute best practices in all areas of HR including recruitment, onboarding, policy administration, compensation and benefit administration, performance management, and maintaining legal and regulatory compliance in all HR related functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility of this role is recruiting.
- Recruits, screens, coordinates interviewing, conducts background checks, and ensures legal compliance for all employment practices.
- Coordinates new employee onboarding process.
- Conducts employee exit interviews.
- Administers legal compliance with all Federal and State Requirements including FMLA, Equal Employment Opportunity, ADAAA, Military Leave, and others as applicable.
- Communicates and ensures compliance with company policies.
- Responds to employee complaints, participates in internal investigations, and recommends appropriate corrective actions.
- Coaches supervisors and managers regarding employee performance and disciplinary matters.
- Conducts or coordinates regular employee and supervisory training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, sexual harassment, and other applicable HR topics.
- Maintains confidential employee records and confidentiality of employee matters.
Education, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business management, business administration, or combination of experience and education or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years demonstrated experience in managing HR systems with a focus on recruiting.
- Demonstrated commitment to integrity, ethical practices as well as efficiency and cost management.
- Ability to maintain business and individual confidentiality.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to listen to issues and handle critical situations with composure, discretion, and good judgment and professionalism.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Training and/or Lean experience preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Team oriented.
- Considerable skill in interviewing techniques.
- Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

Work Environment:
Manufacturing and office environment. Exposure to noise, fumes, and dust, while in manufacturing facilities.
Physical Demands:
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting, to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Works indoors most of the time. Works somewhat close to other people, such as when sharing office space.
