Human Resources Intern

Sightpath Medical is looking for a full time, Monday – Friday, summer intern located at our headquarters in Bloomington, MN. The ideal candidate would be available from the middle of May – end of August 2024.

This HR Intern will be provided hands-on training and mentorship throughout the duration of the internship. This individual will have a focus on Talent Acquisition Management within Human Resources but will have the opportunity to observe other facets of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and provide administrative support to the HR department.
  • Post and maintain open jobs on job boards.
  • Source resumes and applications utilizing Sightpath’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.
  • Complete initial phone interview with candidates ensuring they have the skill and ability to perform the duties of the position applied for.
  • Work hand in hand with hiring managers to set up additional interviews for qualified candidates.
  • Focus on providing a positive candidate experience by ensuring appropriate follow up and professional communication with candidate at all levels in the process.
  • Track candidates through Sightpath’s ATS.
  • Complete reference checking process and communicating information to hiring managers.
  • Submit and monitor the background check and drug screening processes for new employees in advance of hire date.
  • Onboard new hires in Sightpath’s payroll system and ensure all proper paperwork is completed at time of hire.
  • Responsible for documentation of employee life cycle and keeping employee files up to date.
  • Respond to staff inquiries regarding HR policies and HR-related matters as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.
  • Excellent administrative, time management and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly.
