What you will be working on:- You'll work to create and maintain an approachable, welcoming, and inclusive office environment for a very dynamic and fast paced environment while greeting students, staff, faculty, and parents visiting Student Success Services. Respectfully and effectively communicate and work with people for diverse backgrounds, such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, sexual orientation, and socio-economic and with diverse physical and learning abilities.
- You'll provide guidance and excellent customer service to prospective and current students as well as other visitors and community members regarding college policies and process to access services within the Student Success Services department which consists of Advising, Counseling, Disability Services, and Running Start.
- You'll respond to requests for information from prospective students and the public via telephone, mail, electronic communications, and in person. Resolve problems as they occur, respond to these inquiries, and provide follow-ups when needed.
- You'll plan, coordinate, and arrange services for students with approved accommodations including but not limited to sign language interpreting, notetaking, adaptive equipment, alternative format textbooks, assistive technology & software. You'll also prepare Letters of Accommodations for students with disabilities registered with the Disabilities Office each quarter.
- You'll perform complex clerical assignments for all departments in Student Success; schedule/adjust appointments on multiple calendars; process travel requisitions, purchase requisitions; proofread and edit written materials; support for special projects such as preparing information packets for workshops and outreach services; organize and develop informational resources including maintaining bulletin boards, displays, hand-out packets and resource files; update organize and maintain student resources in the lobby; provide data entry for statistical data for all Student Success Services departments. You'll work to create and maintain an efficient, professional office environment and demonstrate cultural humility and intercultural engagement, including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations, and create an educational environment that affirms commitment to equity and diversity.
- You'll prepare quarterly and annual statistics and reports; review documents, records or applications for completeness, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures, determine and explain action necessary to achieve compliance and/or approval; create and maintain student databases for tracking student retention and services provided; compose, update, and maintain correspondence, printed materials, flyers, brochures for Student Success Services.
- You'll maintain confidential and accurate student records located in complex electronic or manual file systems or databases.
- While this position does not supervise any other full-time employees, it may act as a Lead for part-time staff, including student employees.

What you bring as a candidate: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
- High school diploma or GED
- Have three years progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work in a fast-paced environment (formal education will substitute year-for-year for experience)
- Have strong communication and presentation skills, particularly related to distilling complex concepts for a variety of audiences; able to communicate clearly, collaboratively and consistently.
- Able to prioritize work based on the department's needs while meeting deadlines; a self-starter, have critical thinking skills and ability to work well under time pressure and on high-stakes projects; work proactively
- Have strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
- Detail-oriented with experience consistently delivering high quality work product
Physical Requirements:The Position:
