Overview:
The Scholarship Director designs and leads a scholarship program that supports the enrollment management objectives of the Seattle Colleges. Moreover, the Scholarship Director optimizes the financial impact of Seattle Colleges Foundation scholarships for scholarship recipients and contributes to the Colleges' achievement of equity, diversity, and inclusion goals. This position oversees the entire Scholarship program and works closely with various programs and offices across the Seattle Colleges District, including Enrollment Management, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Services, and various academic departments and programs.

What you will be working on:
Program Leadership
  • You will work to develop strategies to maximize Foundation scholarship funds and complement other scholarship funding sources (e.g., state, and federal)
  • Engage as a strategic partner with the Vice Chancellor for Advancement and Foundation Board on scholarship program outcomes and impact
  • You will oversee approaches to increase scholarship applications from BIPOC students.
  • You oversee student grievance issues with discretion and sound judgment and determine the appropriate, timely response
  • You work with your team to ensure the maximum amount of available scholarship funds are awarded. You also oversee the distribution of scholarship and program funds.
  • You collaborate with the Foundation Finance and Administration team and Financial Aid Offices across the Seattle Colleges District on quarterly and annual scholarship award processes.
Program Administration
  • You will manage the scholarship program budget and design and oversee a program calendar that aligns with the Colleges' academic calendar and cycles.
  • You manage the scholarship platform (AwardSpring) and relationship with the software vendor and lead the development and documenting of program procedures in accordance with Foundation policy and national standards
  • You will lead and manage relationships with scholarship partners, including South Seattle Foundation, AFS/North Seattle Foundation, and others.
  • You work with your team to oversee the recruitment and management of volunteer scholarship reviewers.
  • You lead the communication to students, donors, designated college leads, and respective Business and Financial Aid offices to ensure funds are disbursed correctly and appropriately. And work closely with the institutional research team to access, analyze and evaluate program data.
Donor Accountability and Stewardship
  • You work on creating and executing a stewardship plan for scholarship donors in collaboration with the advancement team; co-develop and deliver at least one scholarship event annually to recognize scholars and donors.
Other Duties
  • You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications and attending educational workshops and seminars as the budget allows.
What you bring as a candidate:
(Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience)
  • You have a bachelor's degree.
  • You have a minimum of two years of experience in customer service, student services, or donor services roles, with a demonstrated increase in responsibility over time.
  • You bring in advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel.
  • You have the ability to work flexible hours (including some nights and weekends) as needed.
  • You also have experience managing complex and time-sensitive processes while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
  • You have a minimum of two years of experience in the field of education and/or with other educational/academic scholarship agencies or equivalent experience with fundraising and donor relations.
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills, particularly in distilling complex concepts for various audiences.
  • You have a self-possessed demeanor and the ability to work well under time pressure and on high-stakes projects.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
