We are seeking an energetic and strategic minded Director of Human Resources to join as a key member of the leadership team. In this role you will shape and celebrate our culture, safety, enhance employee experiences, and drive retention strategies. Work with managers and employees eager to collaborate creating an atmosphere where your influence is felt and appreciated. This role advises and supports the HR function for assigned areas with an emphasis on employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, employee retention, talent acquisition, training and development, total rewards, employee recognition, personnel policies, and compliance with state and federal labor laws.

The successful candidate will partner with Operating Company (OpCo) leadership to develop and help implement solutions to maximize organizational effectiveness. This is your chance to make a significant impact!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Be accountable, in partnership with OpCo leadership, for all aspects of Human Resources, including recruiting, compensation, benefits, talent management, employee relations, compliance, development, and retention;
  • Develop and align HR policies, programs, best practices, and initiatives that further achievement of strategic and business goals;
  • Support the communication and understanding of the company vision, mission, and values at all levels, providing clarity for the behaviors expected of all employees to realize an engaging, high-performing, and accountable culture;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with leaders, managers, and employees;
  • Establish credibility as an effective developer of solutions to increase employee engagement, employee satisfaction, employee well-being, and overall organizational performance;
  • Identify and communicate employee issues that impact the company's ability to meet business objectives; provide feedback to leadership and identify business solutions from a HR perspective;
  • Partner with leadership to analyze and prioritize the impacts of human resources on business challenges faced by the organization;
  • Work in partnership with HR Shared Services on HR process and support to improve the employee experience.
  • In partnership with OpCo leadership, oversees the annual goal setting and performance evaluation timelines, communication, and training to ensure employee evaluations are completed in a quality and timely fashion;
  • Support planning process and partner with leaders to establish meaningful employee development plans;
  • Develop staffing strategies, implementation, and onboarding plans to recruit and select talent within and outside the organization for key positions;
  • Champion, administer and - with OpCo leadership approval - implement training and development initiatives;
  • Advocate and facilitate collaborative problem-solving solutions to resolve human resource issues through effective communication with all levels of employees; display genuine interest and respect for people and their concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10 years of work experience in HR-related management roles.
  • Human Resources Business Partner experience required.
  • Experience working with a geographically distributed workforce is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders across all levels of the organization, and to relate to people at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong business acumen, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and organizational values to complex situations and issues.
  • Collaborative team player with a sense of urgency; strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills, including proficiency in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Proven track record of relationship-building with both internal and external customers.
  • Excellent consultative skills with the ability to partner effectively.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Elevated degree of emotional intelligence to gain trust and commitment from others.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Certification: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Compensation: Pay for this position will be between $154,483 and $231,725 annually.

Incentive Compensation Plan: This position may eligible for an Incentive Compensation Plan bonus of up to 30% of base pay, subject to Company and individual performance and per company policy. Individuals hired/transferred during the year will be eligible to receive a pro rata share after six (6) months of service in the event that a bonus is paid out.

Vacation: This position will accrue 20 days of vacation a year. Accrued vacation will be vested and available for use after successfully completing six (6) months of service.

  • Nine (9) paid holidays with two (2) additional floating holidays available after six (6) months of service.
  • Full time employees will accrue ninety-six (96) hours of sick leave per year, up to a maximum of 1,040 hours.
  • Bereavement Leave - three (3) paid days off for a death in the immediate family, or five (5) days off if travel greater than 500 miles is required.
  • ORCA transportation card.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
