Rocky Mountain Instrument (RMI) is looking for a good ol’ fashioned Sales Manager who desires a career in the rapidly growing field of photonics. We are a US based manufacturer of precision optics, thin film coatings and optical assemblies service a prestigious customer base within aerospace, defense, industrial medical laser, life science and semiconductor arenas.
Responsibilities
· Develop key customer contacts and build relationships with high-level contacts within customer organizations. Schedule, host, and manage key customer visits to establish high value relationships
· Meet with key customers, assisting with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
· Represent company at trade shows to promote product.
· Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
· Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
· Coach sales team to promote uniformity in sales processes and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Assign customer accounts to Technical Account Managers.
· Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
· Prepare periodic sales reports.
· Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
· Partner with other departments within organization to facilitate communications and problem-solve.
· Monitors and evaluates the activities and capabilities of the competition.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; and five years sales management experience and/or training. Familiarity with technology fields is required.
Background in a professional business development, sales, or financial role desired.
