Job Role: Rebate Accountant

Job Details:

Reporting to Rebate Manager, responsibilities include assisting with managing the customer incentive process and Pricing.

Position will have a high level of interaction with the sales organization.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Perform month end close activities which include the preparation of journal entries, financial analysis, reclassifications, allocations and corrections
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, rebate accruals, identify/resolve discrepancies and report financial misstatements in accordance with our accounting policies (GAAP) and SOX controls
• Processing of Retail customer rebate deductions
• Processing of builder rebates program
• Processing and tracking of customer rebates and reports
• Calculation and payment of monthly external sales commissions
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable team for tracking deductions
• Analyzing complex rebate data, assisting supervisor with customer and product profitability analysis as well as analyzing growth tiers for new agreements
• Training and operations documentation
• Assist in maintenance of customer rebate program data
• Assist in calculation and payment of quarterly and annual rebates, including interaction and liaison with the Treasury, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams
• Assist with audits
• Ad hoc analysis as required by upper management
• Other rebate- or pricing-related responsibilities/duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 1 to 3 years of business/finance related experience
• Basic knowledge of accounting standards and principles
• Experience with SOX Controls, a plus
• Should demonstrate advanced capability with Microsoft Excel
• Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of management in various departments throughout the company
• Must be a self-starter, flexible, and able to work on time-sensitive projects without daily supervision
• Willingness to take on and assist with new and varied projects as they arise
