Human Resources Professional
Lauritzen Gardens is a living museum of unique four-season plant displays, maintained to the highest standards consistent with environmental stewardship. It provides memorable educational and aesthetic experiences for all. Lauritzen Gardens is currently seeking a Human Resources Professional. This position is responsible for the organization’s human resources functions and is supervised by the Chief Financial & Administrative Officer. These include helping with directing, planning, developing and implementing all functions of the HR position in accordance with the objectives of Lauritzen Gardens.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Onboarding of new employees
· Continue to develop Lauritzen Gardens DEI efforts.
· Ensure employee compliance with all company policies and state/federal regulations.
· Work with management to solve employee related issues.
· Assist with personnel handbook, new employee paperwork, background checks and other processes.
· Maintain employee records and update as needed.
· Help recruit staff and work with management in the interview process.
· Prepare payroll to be sent to outside payroll provider.
· Monitor performance evaluation process.
· Comply with Worker’s Compensation programs.
· Manage ERG groups.
· Head committees for employee events at the gardens.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource management.
· Preferred 3 years HR experience
· Human Resources certification helpful but not required – PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Attention to detail.
