Title: Human Resources and Recruiting Intern

Location: Omaha, NE

Department: Human Resources Dept. and Recruiting Dept.

Reports to: HR Manager and Recruiting Manager

Positions Supervised: None

Travel Required: NA

Compensation: $14.00 - $17.00, Hourly, Non-exempt; based on experience

Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Your Role.

The HR and Recruiting Intern will work alongside the HR team as well as the Recruiting team. The intern will gain experience in updating forms, policies and other compliance documents for the HR Dept. This position will also assist the Recruiting Dept with doing job description audits as well as rewriting job descriptions, posting jobs, and processing applicants.

What You’ll Do in This Role.

Human Resource Support 50%

  • Help maintain and update the company website with new content and information.
  • Assist in determining Worker Classifications according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Help with data transfer from current HRIS (Zenefits) to new HRIS (ADP) and record retention on HR drive.
  • Assist with orientation.
  • Help with data entry of payroll data, new hires and terminations within the HRIS and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Audit employee course completion in LMS (Learning Management System).
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR Team.

Recruiting Support 50%

  • Assist with posting job and processing applicants.
  • Conducting an audit of job descriptions.
  • Update and rewrite job descriptions.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Admin, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Deeply passionate about our mission and can articulate why.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Ability to work in a confidential environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check including Motor Vehicle Report
  • Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

The Office Environment:

As part of the company, you can expect to work in a standard office setting where there is a positive team atmosphere. Our office is a collaborative space where cross-department projects are frequent. Occasional overtime may be required as business needs dictate.You will have exposure to moderate noise levels and on occasion outside weather conditions (walking between buildings, networking events).

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. Manual dexterity needed for using a calculator, computer keyboard, and phone. This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job expectations.
