Gratitude Systems is Hiring a Business Development Associate Near Washington, DC

We are currently seeking a junior to mid-level Business Development (BD) and sales associate in the Washington, DC area. This role involves building partnerships with clients at federal, state, and local government levels, and promoting our range of services and products. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal abilities and a good understanding of the technology industry. This role will be responsible for the management and execution of the full business development (BD) life cycle process across multiple, simultaneous pursuits and proposals for the local government and Grants Management marketplace as the primary focus; secondary focus in federal agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead opportunity identification for Gratitude Systems in the State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) sectors, as well as Federal markets.
  • Initiate outbound calls to arrange meetings
  • Attend events like networking gatherings and conferences to forge new connections with potential key players in the Government, including decision-makers, contracting officials, and prospective teaming partners.
  • Collaborate with senior management to refresh the sales pipeline and work intimately with government Program Managers, solution architects, and senior leaders to understand and fulfill their needs and specifications by coordinating with the team to design and propose both business and technical solutions.
  • Engage with marketing research specialists to pinpoint potential teaming partners and organize strategic discussions for the leadership team.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence, incorporating this data into strategic presentations for the leadership team, focusing on the competitive landscape, winning strategies, key themes, messaging, differentiators, and pricing strategies.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with customers to gain a thorough understanding of their budgets, priorities, operational environment, mission objectives, opportunities, programs, technological solutions, and the competitive landscape and dynamics.
  • Provide support in capture management and proposal development as needed.
  • Help sales success by precisely forecasting and implementing strategies in targeted areas within DC, VA, and MD for SLED clientele.
  • Coordinate online and other marketing efforts
  • Publish social media and print promotional materials.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of sales experience within the technology field.
  • Proficiency in cultivating new customer relationships is mandatory.
  • Essential abilities include strategic account planning with a team, engaging with various levels within customer organizations, and overseeing partner relationships.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities are required.
  • Applicants must be US citizens.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in the industry is preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Commission pay
