About The Smith

The Smith is an extremely popular casual neighborhood brasserie – in fact, several of our locations are among the Top 100 busiest restaurants in the US! The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Our signature lively atmosphere makes The Smith a versatile setting for an after-work bite, drinks on the town, a birthday bash, a working lunch, a bountiful brunch, or an I-don’t-want-to-cook-tonight night.

Position Overview: Executive Assistant

Based full-time in-person at our home office in Soho, NYC, the Executive Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to our CEO. She/he/they will play a critical role in the efficient functioning of our organization by managing daily schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling a range of crucial tasks ranging from presentations to reporting.

Responsible for:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the CEO, including managing calendars, record keeping, and making occasional travel arrangements.
  • Meeting Management: Ensure all Executive-level meetings are set up for success, including accurate locations, invites and attendance, remote links, etc. Track items committed to in meetings, send follow-up reminders and communications when necessary.
  • Email Management: Manage incoming and outgoing communications for the office of the CEO, including answering and screening phone calls, organizing emails, prioritizing incoming emails and alerting CEO to high priority items.
  • Office Management: Maintain a high standard of organization of physical office space at the Home Office, where approximately 30 individuals work full-time.
  • Maintain the inventory of office supplies and equipment.
  • Help department leads across the organization prioritize and maintain focus on initiatives, projects, and programs as designated by CEO.
  • Contribute to data entry, correspondence, presentations, and reporting for the CEO and, occasionally, other executives and department heads across Corner Table. Maintain accurate records and files.
  • Promotes a service-oriented environment and culture of teamwork by setting the standard for internal customer service, including both written and person-to-person communication.
  • Handle confidential information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff, or similar role. Experienced, highly organized restaurant operators looking to move into an office role may be considered.
  • Warm, friendly, approachable, and hospitable demeanor.
  • Curiosity and resourcefulness in the face of obstacles and creativity when problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding writing and proofreading skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Asana experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is strongly preferred but not required.

The base pay range for this position is a salary range of $80,000-$110,000 per year. 

The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, etc.
